Describe your new home, who do you share it with, when did you move in?

Light was really important to me when I was buying a property, so I looked for really big windows and south west facing properties. I moved in a few weeks ago and still have quite a lot to do in the house but I’m loving being in!

Any big plans for the interior?

We’ve done all the big plans already as I wanted to make the whole ground floor one open plan space… As for interiors I’ve worked alongside the incredible Rebecca Hughes team to plan out each space and how it should look and feel. Our powder room is my favourite so far, we’ve gone for a Cole & Sons lemon wallpaper and it’s so Italian!

What do you like about Alternative Flooring?

So much! I love how easy it is to choose a carpet of my dreams. I love how easy it is to build and make my dream rug with Make Me A Rug. I love all the different textures and finishes and colour variations that they offer too.

Tell us about the flooring choices in your home.

In my living room I have a wood oak floor with a rug over the top. I went for a green border on the Sisal Herringbone rug as a lot of my ground floor has green accents. On my staircase, I have a Sisal Bouclé runner which is the colour 1219 which has a beautiful colour navy border that matches our blind at the top of the staircase which is a Soane fabric. There is a wall-to-wall carpet in my bedroom, a Wool Herringbone – I saw this at a friends’ and loved it and had to copy her! I’ve already had a friend order it too after seeing it in my bedroom this week.

Where or who does your design inspiration come from?

Instagram! My entire explore page is home accounts.

How do you put decorating schemes together?

Rebecca Hughes team taught me how to pull fabrics, colours together and compare different schemes, it’s so helpful to keep the fabrics out somewhere you’d see every day to decide.

Do you find Instagram or Pinterest helpful?

IG more helpful! I follow accounts and designs with similar taste.

Lessons you’ve learnt…

Trust my gut more, double check everything and leave a fabric or sample in a room you’ll see it a lot to see how you feel every time you look at it… you might get sick of it you might fall more in love!

Any decorating tips so far?

Spend a lot of time in a space, even if you’re sitting there in a building site, it really

helps to feel the room and the flow.

Any other brands have you used for paint and furnishings?

I love Lick and Farrow & Ball for paint, fabrics we’ve used Soane, Pierre Frey and Colefax and Fowler.

What your home means to you?

Everything, I’m a homebody and love being in my own space and company so creating my dream home has been so exciting.

Favourite room and why?

My bedroom! It’s so inviting and warm. I’ve used pink hued creams colours with cool toned blues and there’s gorgeous high ceilings, joinery and a fireplace!
