Avonvale Carpets are a second-generation family owned business established in 1972, who have been in the local area for over 40 years. They have continued to expand in the local area, opening a brand new showroom in 2023, which showcases ALL our wonderful products in our latest display format, our eye-catching and easy to use Play Studio. Bring along your paint charts and fabric samples and choose at your leisure.

Customers can be assured of a warm welcome in store from Paul, the company owner and Director, and his daughter Anna-Louise who looks after the front of house. Paul has been in the carpet industry for his entire career and with Anna-Louises love of interior design, they will help to expertly guide you with your new flooring choices. Andy, Avonvale Carpets’s experienced estimator, will happily visit your home to measure and help advise on flooring options. Let’s not forget about Casper, the family dog and office mascot, who can often be found sunbathing in the showroom window!

We had a quick Q&A with the team at Avonvale Carpets to find out a little bit more about them...

We think you're great, but why should local people visit your store?

“Time spent working in traditional department stores provided our Director Paul with a solid grounding in the flooring trade, teaching him the prime necessity of absolute integrity and excellent customer service, which is the vital philosophy that lies at the heart of our business.

We are less interested in just securing a sale, and more interested in making sure we offer the very best advice and products to suit each customers’ individual needs. From first discussions we always try to get as full an understanding of your lifestyle and expectations as possible and talk about fibres and maintenance as much as we do texture and colour.

Once the technical aspects have been covered, Anna-Louise’s love of colour means she’s happy to explore as many samples with you as necessary. Whether you’ve brought something to try and match or it’s a case of “I’ll know it when I see it”, we’ll take the time to find your that perfect shade or texture.”

What do you love about your local area? Any Quirky Facts?

“We love Bath because of the variety of work we are invited to do; no two properties or briefs are the same, which certainly keeps us on our toes! We regularly deal with older buildings and owners are often very happy to chat about the history of their property, which means we hear some great stories about Bath’s past.”

What's the best thing about Alternative Flooring? What's your favourite Alternative product?

“We feel that the best thing about Alternative is the number of ranges and designs on offer, whether you’re looking to make a colourful and bold statement, or to add some rustic comfort, you’re sure to find something by Alternative. We have one of the Margo Selby Stripe ranges fitted in our showroom and it’s always a conversation starter!”
