Dixon & Franks are an independently run business who have been in the local area for over 50 years. Showcasing ALL our wonderful products in our latest display format, our eye-catching and easy to use Play Studio. Bring along your paint charts and fabric samples and choose at your leisure.

Customers can be assured of a warm welcome from Gary and his team, Kelvin, Chris, Gemma and George, who will expertly guide and advise you with your new flooring design. Along with Claire and Kyla who look after interior styling and design. Let’s not forget about Chloe, Liz, Charlie and the experienced team of fitters; everyone single person will ensure you are supported throughout your carpet buying journey.

We had a quick Q&A with the team at Dixon & Franks to find out a little bit more about them...

We think you're great, but why should local people visit your store?

“We have a great café… oh and of course we have the most comprehensive selection of carpets and flooring Yorkshire! Our sales associates are knowledgeable, interested, trend savvy, full of energy, good fun and most of all they care. Dixon and Franks isn’t just a shop, its where you have an experience.”

What do you love about your local area? Any Quirky Facts?

“Everybody has a story; everyone is interesting and a lot of our customers are sheep farmers or work (or have worked) in textiles so we have some great chats. Quirky fact, Colonel Rippon lived in Honley, and he had the Huddersfield based Rolls Royce dealership – selling Rolls Royces when Huddersfield had more Rolls Royces per capita than London!”

What's the best thing about Alternative Flooring? What's your favourite Alternative product?

“We each have our favourites… Gemma is a mid-century kind of girl with a penchant for the outré and likes Quirky Bloom. George likes Quirky Spotty; Chris’ favourite is the Plush collection; Kyla likes Wool Rhythm; Claire likes Wool Milkshake (and a beer!); Charlie likes the animal prints of Quirky Zebo and Quirky Leopard; Chloe and Liz simply can’t decide! And Gary… well Gary likes whatever offer is current; Kelvin will like the same as Gary… at 10% less!”

Anything else you would like to tell us?

“2024 marks 50 years of carpet retailing for George (Wow!). 25 years of these have been with Dixon & Franks. Dixon & Franks have gone from successful carpet specialists to a really successful carpet, hard flooring, home and gift village department store complete with café and interior design studio – and we are so proud to be part of the journey.”
