Toons Furnishers are an independently run, family business who have been in the local area since 1969, starting in the local market stalls and gradually building up to its current size. Showcasing ALL our wonderful products in our latest display format, our eye-catching and easy to use Play Studio. Bring along your paint charts and fabric samples and choose at your leisure.

Customers can be assured of a warm welcome from the Toons family and their long serving, experienced management team who look after the ‘front of house.’ Along with their experienced team of fitters, they will ensure you are supported throughout your carpet buying journey.

We think you're great, but why should local people visit your store?

“We are a local independent retailer, offering a vast choice of furniture, flooring, soft furnishings, and all your home accessories. We have café on site along with free customer parking and EV charging available.”

What do you love about your local area? Any Quirky Facts?

“There are just so many things we love about our local area. We have our own language – ‘ayup me duck’ ‘aye cannae come tonight it’s gerrin code’ will only be understood by the locals.

Also, the most famous locomotive designer – Sir Nigel Gresley grown up in the local area.

Plus, Swadlincote is well known for its blue and white cornishware pottery by TG Greens. Aswell as Bretby pottery, Ashby Pottery and Mason & Cash which were produced in the area at one time.”

What's the best thing about Alternative Flooring? What's your favourite Alternative product?

“Our new Play Studio stand! And our freshly laid Margo Selby striped carpet of course!”
